2016 Spartan Race World Championship returns to Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe has become a spring of Spartan champions and a nexus of competition. For this year’s World Championship, Spartan returns to the same waters that baptised men’s champion Robert Killian, of the United States and the women’s winner, the Czech Republic’s Zuzana Kocumova into the highest ranks of Spartan honor.

Despite its familiar name, Lake Tahoe will take racers through a fresh network of trails this October. With open, competitive, and elite racers representing an unprecedented number of countries from across the globe, this year’s Spartan Race World Championship will require more tenacity and lift spirits higher than ever before.

Place top 5 at any US or international Spartan Race. If top 5 finishers have already qualified, a roll down to the next applicable racer will take place.

Spartan is comprised of World Class Athletes. One thing that separates Spartan Inc. from all other mud runs, is the fact that we time our racers. The company is all about self-improvement, but that doesn’t mean we don’t value winning.

After each Spartan Race you will be given a point score that is calculated based on your performance against the winner’s time in your gender and age group placement. Your score is then added to 3 main series so you can compare how you stack amongst other Spartans: World Series, Euro Series, and UK National Series.

Do you have what it takes to be a World Class Athlete?
